The First Sunday Post

Well, here we go. A quick post so I can keep up with my plan to write at least once every Sunday. Ahhhhh, January comes to a close, I'm working like crazy, and aging too! Yes, check this out. On my way home one night this week I caught myself talking out loud on the street! YES. I mean, how old is a person when he or she begins speaking out loud to him or herself? 75? 80? 90? Well, at the ripe age of 28 I caught myself speaking OUT LOUD as I came out of the subway one evening. I had just been to a music store where this guy named Jeff treated me like I was a total idiot who knew nothing about music. I kind of laugh inside when people take that approach towards me, but I was probably a little low energy that night, and when I was recapping his attitude as I walked home I realized I had just spoken OUT LOUD, on the corner of 59th and 3rd, what I wished I would've said to him. I think it was something along the lines of, "well, Jeff, thank you for your help, but with an attitude like that I can assure you you won't make a sale with me". ;)

Other than this strange episode of aging, I have been slamming myself to the computer, working on our new music. Ah! I'm actually starting to get excited about it. At least I'm having fun making it. I am well on my way to finishing ONE song! And that's fabulous! That was my goal for the new year - to finish one song. And then one song. And then one song.

Ok that's it for today's quick update. I thought I wasn't going to make it to post today - in fact, I thought I might not make it to today at all considering last night, ALL night, I was sick with a stomach virus. Just now I decided to get some crackers and soup, and as I walked outside I had one of those fantastic moments, you know, when somehow, not because of anything specific, you get an overwhelming sense, no it's more solid than a sense, a Knowing, that everything's gonna be all right. The air was so fresh and cool, it was unusually silent (no traffic), and it was lightly snowing, which is instantly magical to me, all the heavens in slow motion. And not only did I get this unquestionable reassurance of everything's going to be ok, but I had a little clause tacked onto it that said to me "and it's only going to get better and better". Wow. How refreshing considering my current state. But please don't think that going into the shop I looked like I had received any kind of promises of a better future. I was walking slightly bent over, very slowly, hair unbrushed, pajamas under my coat. But my mental sense far outshined my physical. And I think that matters more most of the time.

Goodnight. May you be very healthy and of course happy.
Love,
Luci

2007th Heaven

Here it is! The Year 2007. It's gonna be amazing! It already IS amazing! Starting, I am going to update my blog at least once a week. Why? I like being in touch. I like sharing with friends and family. I love receiving comments. And I am going to practice stating some of my opinions. So look for Sundays to be the update day. I figure this is the first day of the week so it'll put me off to a productive start. (Let's see how long I can manage that!)

And productivity is the word! I have eagerly delved in to the depths of music making this month. How exciting?! Yes, somehow something has clicked inside of me and I am able to spend more than 15 minutes at a time in front of the computer laying down tracks for original songs. And not even that - I can't get enough of it! When I'm at the grocery store, out to dinner, hearing a band, I can't WAIT to get home and get to work! I definitely want to ride this wave as long as I can! So why, you might be wondering, is it almost the end of January and I'm just getting my year started? Well, that's a little tale in and of itself. So here we go.

Once upon a time:
Hey - I think I'll tell this story in pictures! Let's see how well they can depict my last few weeks.
