The 2005 Music Has Power Awards

This year, yet again, we had a beautiful fundraising event for the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function.

The Music Has Power Awards honorees for 2005 included:
Arnold H. Goldstein - Director Emeritus, Institute for Music and Neurologic Function; and Asst. Vice President of Corporate Relations at Beth Abraham Family of Health Services Henry Z. Steinway - Past President and Chairman of Steinway & Sons; and Founding President of the Museum of Making Music.

Performers included Antigone Rising, Moby, John Bayless, Lorin Hollander, Bruce Hornsby, Dr. Billy Taylor, former music therapy patient and vocalist Denise Seda, and Just Us, a band comprised of current and former music therapy patients.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take many photos, but here is the red carpet moment with Moby and Denise, a former patient of mine who made a miraculous recovery. (Isn’t she beautiful!!!)

Read this brief article to learn more about Denise’s amazing story.
