Venezuela
So, Venezuela was very interesting! My first time ever in South America! Ok, it was beautiful, but really impoverished in most places (outside of the center of the city of Caracas). Our hotel was completely gated with a 24 hour guard because it was absolutely unsafe to go outside of it. Basically they told us we would get kidnapped. And no just because we were tourists, but because we’re people. They’ll kidnap anyone, so it is just as unsafe for Venezuelans as it is for tourists. Sad! I would be sad to live in a place like that. But don’t worry, we had 3 giant bodyguards with us the whole time! We had a nice day trip on Thursday to eat lunch and do a little shopping. The show in Caracas was AMAZING, because the fans are so much FUN! And our lighting designer, Dan Hardiman, had some really cool lights to work with only intensifying and enhancing my personal performance experience! We were eating the catered food after the show and the girl who served us leaned down over our table to tell us how much each one of the caterers (there were like 15) had put all their soul into making this experience for us in Caracas absolutely unforgettable, and one of the best places we will remember. I absolutely LOVE exchanges with people who love doing their jobs! It was a beautiful night. Ok, Colombia update next!

Caracas from the air

One of the many little neighborhoods built on the sides of the hills on our way to the airport.
