Today has been a nightmare as far as traveling goes. I am presently sitting in a dressing room at a French TV station with nothing to do, so I will enlighten you of our day. We woke up at such an hour that I was purely angry with no energy to feel it. We left our beautiful London Hotel and drove 45 minutes or so to the airport, only to find out that our flight to Paris was cancelled due to a major transit strike in France. We waited in the airport for almost 2 hours to see if we could get on the next flight, when they told us they didnt think that one was going either. Then we decided to try the Eurostar, even though we had been informed by our taxi driver that some of the trains had been cancelled for the same reason. We drove for an hour in London traffic from the airport to the train station, and bought tickets for the next train. Just after we did that, we realized that we were missing a bag with 2 people's passports in them, So we missed the train. We had to buy new tickets for a later train, and leave 2 people behind (Scott, the drummer, and Ali the tour manager). After joining a 1000-member Japanese tour group, we managed to make it on the train (with 16 pieces of oversized luggage). I was actually excited that we took the train rather than a flight, because training it through Europe is one of my very favorite things. Watching foreign scenery gliding by always makes me think of the forward motion of life and the excitement that the future and present hold. So I tried to sleep, but fell asleep for only 10 minutes and completely ruined my neck thanks to the horribly engineered headrests on the seats. We heard from Scott and Ali that the bag was found at the airport and they just now arrived here at the television station. Have to run Moby and the band want to play charades, ha!
